EXP 3_ FINAL SUBMISSION

18 Perspectives

My architectural school is connected with NIDA, Square House, Uni Gym and Round House on the campus.

Reasons:
1. NIDADoing architecture and other design subjects need inspiration, and
sometimes they can get inspiration from drama and performance.
2. Square House: Cooperation with Faculty of Built Environment of UNSW.
3. Uni GymSometimes students and staffs need to do some practices after a long
                     time for sitting.
4. Round HouseRound House is a place for students to relax and entertain. So
after every due, students need to have some entertainments to
                            release their pressure.

MASHUP

“Vertical city”, which provides all the self- service features of infrastructure, buildings, facilities and services necessary for improving the living, working, cultural, entertainment, sport, recreation and leisure qualities of life for residents, is a complete vision of ecosystem in the sky. Sustainability needs to adapt the future generations and global problems. The entire ensemble of “vertical city” should respond flexibly to adapt to the changing needs of an urban society. Also, it can make more attractive relationship among surrounding buildings with the concept- “a city within a park.”

the Concept of Theory:
vertical communities
changeable elements of buildings
the idea of sustainability for next generations

Building within Park - Park within Building

PRECEDENT and MODIFICATION
This precedent is Mies Van der Rohe's brick country house. Because my MashUp theory is "building within park and park within building," I decided to choose the precedent which has the long wall and with many spaces at the same time.

My theory is a little bit partial to modernism. However, Mies van der Rohe was a modernist architect. He had his own opinion of modernism.
Mies van der Rohe's modernist theory:
1. functionalism
2. neoclassical
3. configuration and arrangement of every architectural element

Therefore, combined with my theory, I modified his plan and rotated it as a section.

In order to create a vertical community, my architectural school will be a highest building on the campus, and the bridges will be on the roofs among buildings.
